Selling data is one of the few businesses in Ghana you can start today, from your phone, with almost nothing. There is no stock to buy, no shop to rent, and no staff to pay. This guide explains exactly how it works.

How data reselling works

You buy bundles at reseller cost and sell them at your own price. The difference is your profit. You never handle SIM cards, vouchers, or physical stock — the bundle is delivered directly to your customer's number.

What you need to start

  • A phone with internet.
  • A Mobile Money number.
  • A few customers to start with — friends, classmates, church members, coworkers.

That is genuinely it. No registration fee, no capital tied up in stock.

Step by step

  1. Create a free account. Sign up with email or Google.
  2. Set your prices. For every bundle you see the reseller cost. You choose what to charge. Charge 50 pesewas more, or two cedis more — it is your business.
  3. Get your store link. You get a personal store page you can send on WhatsApp, put in your status, or paste into your bio.
  4. Share it. Customers open the link, pick a bundle, enter their number, and pay with MoMo. No sign-up needed on their side.
  5. Get paid. The bundle is delivered automatically and your margin lands in your earnings balance.
  6. Withdraw. Cash out your earnings to your MoMo number.

What you can charge

Look at what people around you already pay in shops and price just under it. You do not need to be the cheapest — you need to be convenient and reliable.

Getting your first ten customers

  • Post your store link on your WhatsApp status three times a week, not once.
  • Tell people what problem you solve: "data at any hour, delivered in seconds, pay with MoMo".
  • Ask the first five buyers to share the link with one person each.
  • Be fast to reply. Speed of reply is the whole reputation in this business.

Common mistakes

  • Pricing too low. A five pesewa margin is not a business. Price for a real profit.
  • Selling on credit. Never deliver before payment lands.
  • Going quiet. Customers buy from whoever is visible when they run out.
